Ideas to spend summer vacation 2025 in Rajasthan

As the hot Rajasthan sun heralds the entry of summer, it also arrives with a long-due respite for young learners. Between May 17th and June 30th, kids get to break away from formal classrooms and indulge in a world of fun learning, creativity, and exploration.

So how do parents make sure it is both fun and fulfilling?

At Open Fields School - the Best School in Bharatpur, we don’t believe learning ever stops—it simply takes a different shape. Summer break is a prime moment to foster curiosity, confidence, and connections to loved ones in exciting and intentional ways. Here’s how:

🧠 Balance Fun and Learning Children learn best when learning is fun. Take the break to return to alphabets, numbers, and fundamental concepts through narratives, jumbles, rhymes, and flash cards. Only 20 minutes a day keeps them sharp without tiring the kid.

📖 Read, Read, Read! Reading together opens magical worlds. Picture books and short stories, or even interactive audio stories, build imagination and language. Develop a bedtime reading habit—a soothing way to cap active days.

🎨 Creative Time is Brain Time Get your child to finger-paint, work with clay, or make do-it-yourself crafts. They are fun and help build fine motor skills and express feelings. Keep a small "summer scrapbook" and fill it with pictures and artwork.

🌿 Morning Outdoor Activities Take a moment in the garden or on the terrace before it becomes too hot. Let them water plants, bird-watch, or even go barefoot on the lawn. Nature is a wonderful teacher!

🍉 Healthy Kitchen Fun Acquaint them with fruits, simple recipes such as fruit salad or lemonade and impart some kitchen hygiene basics. Wherever children assist in the kitchen, they end up eating better and feeling responsible as well!

💧 Water Play and Cooling Activities Whether it's a splash tub in the kitchen, a safe kiddie pool in the backyard or simply a bucket and a mug, water play is a refreshing and fun experience. Don’t forget to supervise it and make it safe.

🎵 Music, Dance & Drama Sing, dance and role play! These fun activities promote confidence and self-expression. Arrange a "family show" and have your child perform—it is fun for all!

❤️ Teaching Values Through Stories Summer is also the season of quiet reflections. Share stories of kindness, bravery, and friendship. Employ story time as a soft means to foster emotional intelligence and appreciation.

👵 Visit Grandparents Long vacations are the perfect time to visit grandparents. Children enjoy their love, stories, and home-cooked treats while building bonds and learning values. It’s also a great way to understand family roots and traditions.

🌙 Plan Pajama Parties and Night Overs Organise simple sleepovers with cousins or close friends—pyjama parties, storytelling under the stars, or movie nights with popcorn can bring joy and strengthen friendships in a safe and loving environment.

🏫 Summer Camp Consideration While others enjoy short holiday stays, others prefer keeping their kids socially active and creatively occupied through local summer camps. Many schools and organisations in Bharatpur had organised the summer camp last year, including Open Fields School. 💬 In Concluding Summary Vacation season is less of a break and more of a time of possibility. By planning ahead, it becomes a lovely mixture of bonding, learning, and happy exploration. Slow down, drink in the mango smoothie, and let the summer of your child bloom with promise!
