Awareness Meets Art - A Tribute to World Environmental Health Day

26 September 2025 - Posted in Celebrations by

At Open Fields School, we believe that small steps taken by young hearts can create big changes for the world. On the occasion of World Environmental Health Day, our students came together not only to learn but also to spread awareness about the importance of protecting our planet.

The day began with powerful presentations by our students. Using chart papers, props, and creative ideas, they highlighted pressing issues such as water pollution, air pollution, sand erosion, and waste management. Their messages were clear and impactful, showing how even children can raise their voices to inspire society.

Adding a personal touch, each child also shared three promises they want to make to protect environmental health — simple yet strong commitments like saving water, planting trees, and reducing plastic use. These promises reflected their sincerity and growing sense of responsibility towards Mother Earth.

The excitement didn’t end there! Next came a live pottery show that mesmerised everyone. A skilled potter, with graceful hands and unmatched creativity, transformed clay into pots, vases, diyas, bowls, toys, and many more beautiful objects right before the children’s eyes. The sight left them wide-eyed with wonder and admiration.

Inspired by this artistry, our little learners rolled up their sleeves and got their own hands into clay. With joy and curiosity, they shaped their very own diyas. These handmade creations are now kept aside for drying and will soon be decorated and lit up in their homes during Deepawali, spreading happiness and reminding us of the beauty of eco-friendly living.

The day was a perfect blend of learning, creativity, and sustainability — a celebration of not just environmental health but also of our children’s growing love and respect for nature.
